FLAGPOLE DEDICATION AND POLISH FLAG RAISING CEREMONY AT THE KOSCIUSZKO MONUMENT

The Polish-American Citizens Club of Tadeusz Kosciuszko in Fall River, MA sponsored a ceremony dedicating the new flagpole at the Kosciuszko Monument at Kosciuszko Square on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 8:00 A.M. The national flag of Poland was raised on the new flagpole for the first time on “Polish Independence Day”, November 11th. This flagpole joins the existing one that has the United States flag on it. A prayer was recited by Rev. Krzystof Stanibula, a club member. The national anthems of Poland and the United States of America were sung followed by a salute to the U.S. flag. There were brief remarks following the ceremony by Fall River Mayor William Flanagan, several Fall River City Councilors and Massachusetts State Representatives and a Fall River School Committee Member. The Master of Ceremonies was Brian Curt, President of the Polish-American Citizens Club of Tadeusz Kosciuszko. After closing remarks by Brian Curt, refreshments were served at Patti’s Pierogis, which is a short walk from the Kosciuszko Monument.
